Scheduled for Sunday, June 30, the 13th Annual PADRE’S RUN and Bike Blessing is scheduled from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. Starting from and ending at the Church of the Holy Family, Hebron CT, in Amston, the event is being sponsored by Trantolo & Trantolo, and benefits the Fidelco Guide Dog Program.

Registration lasts from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and is being held in the church hall. By 9:30 a.m., a memorial mass is scheduled, with the bike blessing following. The motorcycle ride begins right after the blessing, with the church’s Father Michael leading.

The ride wraps up at the church, with activities planned for the afternoon. With the ticket price covering both the ride and food, be ready for delicious food, a raffle, and entertainment from band Arizona Made.

If you are planning to attend, the total cost of the ride and meal is $20. If you’re looking to support Fidelco but aren’t planning to ride, the cost of the meal and activities is $10 for adults and $5 for children; children under 3 years of age, however, are admitted for free. Donations to the church are also welcomed, and checks made payable to the Church of the Holy Family can be mailed.

The Fidelco Guide Dog Program brings together service dogs with wounded returning U.S. soldiers. The organization, International Guide Dog Federation accredited, promotes the independence of men and women who are blinded and, in doing so, breeds, trains, and places German Shepherd guide dogs with individuals who have visual disabilities. Since its beginnings, Bloomfield-based Fidelco has relied solely on gifts, donations, and volunteer efforts from individuals, foundations, corporations, and civic organizations, and now is experiencing greater demand for its services.

To support Fidelco and enjoy an afternoon on the roads of scenic central Connecticut, join Trantolo & Trantolo on June 30.
