Trantolo & Trantolo is the proud Presenting Sponsor for the 2015 Miracle Ride. Held on Sunday, April 26th, the event supports the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
Now considered one of New England’s premier charity rides, Miracle Ride is celebrating its 20th year for 2015. Since 1996, funds and donations have helped purchase wheelchairs, surgical equipment, monitors, and life-saving NICU incubators for the hospital. This year, the ride will contribute toward the NICU and the Angel Eyes project.
NICU specifically helps babies born prematurely or with complex medical conditions, many of whom weigh no more than a pound. Parents become concerned about bonding with their new child, and to address this, the hospital began Angel Eyes, a 24-hour internet-based camera system allowing parents to watch and even talk to their children.
As of now, riders must register at the event, which begins in Hartford’s Bushnell Park. Starting at 9:00 a.m., registration will be held on Elm St., and by 11:15 a.m., the parade starts to form. Before the ride departs, the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center will put on a special presentation.
The ride officially takes off at noon, traveling from the park, past the hospital, and eventually on a scenic route to Sun Valley Resort in Stafford Springs. There, all will receive a picnic lunch and get to listen to live music.
