Exposure to contaminated water at Camp Lejeune has been linked to cancer in several studies. The water at the base has been found to be contaminated with various chemicals, including trichloroethylene (TCE) and perchloroethylene (PCE). These chemicals are known to cause cancer in humans.
In one study, researchers found that people who had been exposed to the water at Camp Lejeune were more likely to develop cancer than those who were not exposed. The study found that people who drank the water or bathed in it had a greater risk of developing cancer than those who did not.
Cancer Linked to Camp Lejeune
Other studies have also found an increased risk of cancer among people who were exposed to the water at Camp Lejeune. One study found that people who lived on the base for more than six months were more likely to develop cancer than those who did not live on the base.
