Graduating from Florida State University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in criminology and a minor in psychology, he then attended Quinnipiac University School of Law, where he earned numerous awards for his trial advocacy skills. He served as vice president of the Quinnipiac University School of Law Mock Trial Society in his final year of law school, and later earned the distinction to serve on the Quinnipiac School of Law staff as an adjunct professor.
